Madres de Plaza de Mayo

20th February 2009
0

The Madres de Plaza de Mayo is a human rights organisation founded by the mothers and grandmothers of those who disappeared during Argentina’s last military dictatorship. Whilst progress has been made towards justice, the women still meet every Thursday in Plaza de Mayo to raise awareness of their cause. Although international attention has brought throngs of tourists to view the weekly march, visiting gives you the opportunity to show your support, meet the founders and pick up a book or two. The march begins at 3.30pm, and lasts half an hour. www.madres.org
